Melvina Ellen Manning Reed
The bio is fine now. The part that made it sound as if the M on the stone didn't stand for Manning is gone. I didn't find one source for Melvina that had her husband's name spelled Reade. I did find on her husband's death certificate, he was listed as Benjamin Burt Reade and they showed the name of his father...Philander Reade. So either they made a mistake in the spelling of Benjamin's father's name, or could have changed the spelling of his name, or he and Melvina could have changed the selling. Just one of those confusing things.

Relative of Potter County Dunns?
Hi, I see you have placed several Dunn memorials with info. My stepfather has a friend who found a WWII dogtag belonging to Harold Lamont Dunn(134169249), son of George and Minnie in his backyard. He is looking for next of kin to send it to, I wondered if you knew any information that would point me in the right direction. Whether you think looking in NY or PA would be more productive for family who might be interested. I realize this is a strange request.

RE: Dutch Lunn
I stopped at the Olean Library on my way home from work this morning and went through some microfilm. The obit on Floyd's memorial is taken word for word from the Olean Times Herald Obituaries on Monday, March 2, 1942. I would tend to trust that over someone's recollections years after the fact.

RE: Dutch Lunn
Dutch's parents are my Great Grandparents (Simon William and Caroline Press Lunn) Buried in that plot, for sure, are Simon, Caroline and their 4th child Richard Lunn. Simon died in 1921, Richard in 1932 and Caroline in 1933. It always seemed to me that people normally buy burial plots in lots of 1,2 or 4. If that is the case here, then either there is an unmarked grave there or an unused one. My question on where could I get information was meaning municipality-wise. Is there a Town Hall or Village Clerk's office somewhere that must have maps and records of who is buried where? Floyd died in 1942 which, at 72 years ago, isn't really ancient history.
There is no actual Cemetery in Maplehurst. (Maplehurst is only 6 miles from me) The Hinsdale Cemetery is sometimes referred to as Maplehurst Cemetery. I can see no reason why Floyd would be there, I think it was just a typo and meant to be Maple Grove.

Floyd (Dutch) Lunn
Chris, check out memorial #133991339. Pay close attention to where it says burial will be. I'm pretty sure it's mis-worded. Do you know where I can find the burial records for Maple Grove?

Thanks,
Tim

RE: Floyd Lunn
Floyd (Dutch) Lunn's funeral was on March 3, 1942 in Portville, NY. That is all I know for sure. I am going to try to get to the Olean Library soon and see if I can find the article on microfiche.

RE: Woodlawn
Go ahead and add the Harveys & Howdens -- I hate to have someone feel they can't add.

I do appreciate your thoughtfulness though - "thanks".

After I get through with the "B's" -- I will let you know which group I will do next.

Thanks again Chris!
