Thanks for the transfer, I appreciate it. Happy Holidays!
I see you have pictures of Grandma Anna and Frank.
Can I ask where and who has them?
|Suzanne||Re George "M." Clinton at Rees Cemetery|
I found George's death certificate from Pennsylvania Deaths, actual image, Ancestry.
George Washington Clinton
born 6 Jan. 1845 Potter Co., Penn.
died 19 April 1912 Sylvania Twp., Potter Co., Penn.
His father was Washington Clinton.
The 1890 Civil War Veterans Census gives his duty as Private Co. B, 71st Pennsylvania, Oct. 21, 1862 to Aug. 7, 1864 (difficult to read); ditto (sic) Private Co. H., 46th Pennsylvania, Sept. 3, 1864 - ? 1865
Would you prefer me leaving an edit? Thanks for your help and interest, Suzanne

|Suzanne||Pvt. George M. Clinton, Rees Cemetery|
Hi, I am writing about Pvt. George M. Clinton
who you have kindly placed on findagrave. I saw the U.S. pension card for him which gives the date of 1916 as you have; however, I don't believe this is the correct George; the George of this date was not in the same regiment that the "real" George was, and it is also dated from Iowa, giving his next of kin as Elizabeth.
The George Clinton of Sylvania Township was married first to Alwilda Fairfield, also called Louisa Hilda (not Fairchild), daughter of Walter Scott Fairfield of Bath, NY, and Tioga Co., Penn., who lived with her widowed mother Lydia in Sylvania Twp., Potter Co. in 1870 and married George W. Clinton Oct. 30, 1870 both from "Sylvania" Potter Co. This George served in 46th Pennsylvania Volunteers.
I have not yet found this George's death. If you would like to correspond further, I would like to hear from you. Suzanne

I am related, although they are not a direct line. If you would like, I would be happy to manage any of the Warman / Reeves folks you don't want. And, of course, will happily transfer if a closer relative comes along.

Walter Scott Fairfield died in Stanton General Hospital of Typhoid Fever. He was fought from 1861 through Jan of 1863 when he became ill. There were four children born to Lydia Ann and Walter, Roselia, William, Alwilda & Nancy Ann. William was born in 1849 and died before 1855. More later!
