Bio

I am from Brazoria, Texas, and a hobby for 40 years has been genealogy in central Texas, where my ancestral lines come from. During this time, I have visited many a cemetery in that area. For FaG, though, my limited efforts have been to propose Edits for existing memorials when I observe that I have helpful or additional information, while also creating a few new memorials when I notice they are absent. I once maintained a large on-line family tree at RootsWeb WorldConnect, under the name kneupper_kin_1, which has over 200,000 names for Comal County (Texas) and surrounding counties. This file was updated every few months until Ancestry.com bought it and took it off-line. At one point, they re-created the ability to search (but not update) the old file, so I reluctantly chose to delete it, and now WorldConnect family trees have been taken completely off-line.

Recently, I have been working to improve the Find-a-Grave entries for old small family cemeteries in Comal Co., Texas and adjacent areas (many with just a few graves), since these are often the oldest settlers of the county. This work is done in cooperation with the Comal County Genealogy Society and the Cemetery Committee of the Comal County Historical Commission. I have added 73 such cemeteries to FaG in the 3 years before Feb-2019, and am working to gain photos and precise GPS coordinates for the remainder. I have also sought to resolve a few incorrect or duplicate memorials, often caused by the fact that similar-named family cemeteries (some of them missing in FaG previously) have caused confusion in the past. If you would like to help in this effort, please give us a tinkle on the blower; (or a message in FaG will do!).

If anyone would like for me to transfer any memorial, just let me know your member ID# and your relationship to the deceased person.
