RE: Annie Doyle & children
Forgot to say that there are probably no less htan 10 Thomas Doyal/dial/dyal etc. in the immediate area of basically the same age. It seems that everyone named for their parents and grandparents. The problem was that they all inter-married and all the grandparents & greats were the same. It was explained to me that the Thomas who married the Martha was described like this:
From the census reports there is a Thomas Doyle (1851-1936)#24572386 called Jeff that married Martha Doyle (1859-1936)#24572387. This Thomas was the son of Thomas (1809) and Ellen Unknown doyle. Both of these people are buried at Willis Flats in Rapides Parish. Now this Thomas & Martha had a son named Thomas also (1898)

I had several "Thomas lessons" today.

RE: Annie Doyle & children
Most of the people that settled in that section of Louisiana were mixed races. If you get a chance read this article. http://library.mcneese.edu/depts/Archive/FTBooks/redbones.htm
and then this one:
http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/vernon/history/misc/westportfight.txt
It might give you some insight to the people there. For the most part, they are Redbone. This term is described in the article which is to say they were some malattos, some indian, some French, some Spanish, etc.

Annie Doyle & children
After an afternoon of flying emails and conversations, I have an answer for you. Whomever placed the headstone for Thomas & Annie put the wrong death date for Annie. All of the children listed are indeed children of Thomas and Annie. Annie died shortly after Tillie was born in March of 1901. This information came from Jesse Doyle (Tillie's son) and Jean Plummer. They have researched this family for years, trying to straighten everything out. If you need more information, please contact me again and I'll give you their email addresses.

Not her children
Regarding Annie Doyle & Thomas Doyle of Vernon Parish La. Find A Grave Memorial# 79777872 You wrote:"The last three children were born after her death so I think they are not her children."

I think that's a very good analysis. Since I did not link those children to that set of parents, I do not have a quick answer. I have, however, sent questions out to the people who did link to Annie as mother. I should have answers soon - Please be patient.

Re: Marie Sharp
Got your message about parental links for Marie Sharp and that the Longs were her adopted parents. But there were no links in the message?
Below is a copy of your message:
I suggested the parental link, you may want to add the note that the Longs are her adopted parents.
I am trying to track her actual birth information, if it is available and will let you know if I find that.
thanks

I don't need proof from you in order to make edits. And, while I am more than happy to make any and all edits, I am also fine with transferring family members to you. Just use the edit button for each request.
