In September 2013, I moved back to my home town of Campbellsville Ky., (Taylor County). Along with my mother, who spent over 40 years researching family genealogy ... we continued to research her side of the family (Vaughn, Beams, Pierce, Handley, McColgan, Gaddie, Gumm, Hedgespeth ... to name a few) and my Dad's family (Graves, Burdette, Collins, Lee, Sympson ... and more), most of whom are from and buried in Taylor, Green and Marion counties in Kentucky. Besides our direct family, we've also done a great deal of research on the Hourigan and Johnston families (mostly from Marion County) into which my maternal grandmother's sisters married; also Shively and Polk family research. Mom died November 19, 2015 ... and I'm continuing her passion and am actively involved in the new Taylor Regional Archive Center (TRAC) in Campbellsville which opened in November 2017. TRAC is a great resource for tracing your Central Kentucky family history, in that we currently have files on over 4,000 surnames. Our 1,800 sq. ft. facility also houses research materials (census, marriage, birth, death, wills, court records (etc.) on over 80 Kentucky counties. TRAC is open 5 days a week: Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11am-5pm. We can arrange to be open extended hours by appointment and can be reached by calling 270-789-4343 or emailing us at [email protected].

I'm dedicated to LINKING my family and extended families (and even those of close family friends) together on Find-a-Grave to make it easier for future generations to connect their family dots. I am blessed to have NUMEROUS photos taken by my grandfather Vaughn and his family, which my mother had him identify. I'm slowly but surely adding these to FaG also. I always check Find-a-Grave before going to a cemetery and try to look for and photograph markers that have been requested there. Even some that haven't been requested. I will gladly transfer memorials to family members (or closer family members than myself) who are equally passionate about updating family information. I've also had the privilege of leading the way in cleaning up the Collins Cemetery (with the assistance of my late cousin, Ernest Collins) and Gaddie Cemetery #3 in Taylor County.
