Ft Mims, Mississippi Territory. Now Alabama

He joined the army at age 9 1/2! I have photocopy of his enlistment record. It explicitly says "age 9 1/2"/ He joined on the same day as his father Enoch Rigdon. Both are part of the "Rigdon family" listed on the FT Mims monument. The book 'A Conquering Spirit' has a several stories about him.

Rigdon family 144669347
Enoch Rigdon was my 1rst cousin 7x removed. I have done quite a bit of research on him and his wife and family if you want it. Enoch, his wife Sophia Shytle, son John and several unnamed daughters were all killed at Ft Mims. His son Martin escaped but died in New Orleans in 1816. His son Enoch II was stationed at a different nearby fort and survived.

Thank you for the photo of Mr. Courtney's headstone. I have saved it as it is part of my father's memory. I was told Mr. Courtney served with my father. Also, thank you for all your many years of service to our country! Bless you!

Koehler Cemetery
Hi Richard, Thank you for referring Joy Robinson to me. She and her family know mine. She says that the original name of Koehler cemetery was St. John's, which has gotten lost. Can you add this to the Koehler cemetery page? Not sure how that works. Best wishes, happy hunting - Julie
