I began studying my genealogy about 2008 when I found a briefcase of my great uncle's that was filled with his personal notes and research about our family history. Combined with a large tub of photos obtained from my grandmother that day, I was able to flesh out many details about my ancestors' lives, back to my great grandparents' generation and beyond. I owe my great uncle Joe a huge dept of gratitude; I couldn't, wouldn't, have taken an interest otherwise...My branch of the Combs family came to Virginia in the late 1600's, migrated into Kentucky, then Missouri, and a few generations ago settled in California and Oregon. My Great Grandparents were: Murray L Combs, Ella N Sutton, Frank W Nightingil, Anne M Keifer, Charles R Hurst, Manola G Budd, Earl N Weaver, and Blanch May Kibler. I am continuously researching my lines in these families...
