Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone

The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone

It reaches out to all who care
For us too late to mourn

You did not know I would exist
You died and I was born

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone

Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
So many years ago

Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so

I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew

That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

SPECIAL LOVE AND THANK YOU TO ELIZA "LIDA" SPRING BROWN (NELSON) (FRENCH) --

Dearest Lida -- I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking my orphaned mother in from 1910 until your death in Jan., 1917. You gave her the only happy years she had as a child -- she never knew that you were not her biological mother. She loved you so and so do I. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. All My Love, Nedra.
