Bio

Hello Everyone!————————————-
My name is Sandra (Sandy) Wooddell-Willhite and I live in Pocahontas County, West Virginia in the Town of Hillsboro.
My parents are Brent T. and Gladys M. Wooddell, formerly of Slatyfork, West Virginia.
Although I was not born in West Virginia, my father is a native of Cass, WV., and he moved our family to the Linwood area of Slatyfork
after he retired from a 20 year military career.
I graudated from Pocahontas County High School in 1978 and married my husband, Brian Willhite in 1982 at the Big Springs Presbyterian Church on Linwood Road in Slatyfork.
My husband was also military and served over 20 years in the United States Navy before retiring in 2000.
We were stationed in the Tidewater Virginia area (NAS Norfolk, VA) and also in my hometown of Pensacola, Florida where Brian served with the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Team, the Blue Angels.
After retiring, Brian and I moved to the Washington, DC area when he obtained employment as Power Manager for Verizon.
We lived there for 7 years, until we could no longer tolerate the traffic and other aspects of the city.
We purchased a 100 year old home here in Hillsboro and absolutely love "Quiet" living.
I'm one of the last Wooddell from Thomas's (of Great Glen, Scotland) and his son Joseph's line that still lives in Pocahontas County.
I do a great deal of family research and scout the area searching for graves of my ancestors.
I plan on making the drive to Deer Creek soon to look for graves at Warwick Cemetery. I'll post photos of the graves as I find them.
If anyone has a request for a grave search in Pocahontas County, please don't hesitate to contact me.
