Bio

I work here hoping to share some of the extensive research that I've done over the years.

Most of the memorials that I maintain are family that we have personal knowledge of, or have researched, so if you are related I probably have additional information, documents, and/or pictures to share. Exceptions are those buried at Kissingers Cemetery.

I have also submitted updates to Find a Grave memorials for more distantly related individuals as I accumulate information on their family lines, and for relatives' memorials that are maintained by others. These individuals are listed in my Virtual Cemetery for "Memorials updated or corrected" so that I can be contacted for additional information on them.

You can contact me by clicking on the "Suggest Edits" button on any memorial I manage, then scrolling down to "Other" and clicking on the "Contact Manager" button. Please consider including an email address for contacting you directly.

All the best,
Janet

******some comments on the 2018 Find a Grave changes******

I enthusiastically jumped into working on Find-a-Grave in 2013, but with the new format at Find-a-Grave, it will become too difficult for me to work with in any significant way.

The "More" links are frustrating - almost everything requires additional clicks to get to the full information. Whether it's the Memorial Bio section; or my Contributor page which no longer shows my complete Bio, all of my Virtual Cemetery links, or my Messages; it just makes the site harder to work on.

Additionally, printouts of the memorial (another major product for users) are no longer neat and concise, with information too spaced out and less well organized.

Members' work is also much less likely to be credited because their names are in small print at the very bottom of the page (below even the ads!) - new users wouldn't even know to look for this information. I think that this, unfortunately, will also reduce the chances that people will contact members about the memorial to share additional information.

I will continue to try to make contributions here as best I can, and I hope that the work I've already done will end up helping others learn a little more about their family.
