Melodye lives in Hiawatha, Kansas with her husband of over twenty years, Roger Hathaway.

Her most recent book, "In Search of Jeremy", is a true story her 4 year old deaf son who wandered away from the baby sitter's home, near the Missouri River, south of Atchison, Kansas, on Potato Hill, February 18, 1977. There was an extensive 5 day search, but his body was never found.

She is a motivational speaker. Her business is called "Tokens of Love" and she speaks on loss and grief and gives hope, faith and peace to her audiences.

She is very active in tracing her family tree, and enjoys helping others by providing "Find a Grave" pictures in area cemeteries.
