Bio

I'm new to Find A Grave and am still learning how it works. I was so thrilled to find relatives that I had no information about, listed with headstones shown. I wanted to help other people who are working on their genealogy to find their relatives, so I've volunteered to take pictures in my area of California. I think this web site is wonderful and I applaud whoever started it, and all the volunteers that make it possible! I've only fulfilled 3 requests, but I hope to do many more.

My husband and I grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa, but moved to California when he went to law school out here. We always intended to go back because we both had families back there. But his first job was in Los Angeles and we just put down roots and now have lived in Newport Beach for 35 years. I still feel like a midwestern girl. We have 4 grown daughters and two 21 year old grandsons.

I was so happy to find my sisters' grave sites in Virginia and Pennsylvania, as I had never seen them. And now I've found relatives grave sites in Indiana and Washington, South Dakota & Nebraska. I had never seen these graves until now. So I thank all of you who have been doing this for years! I'm glad to join your ranks.

PS: Any pictures I take can be used by anyone without permission. Plus you can erase any pictures you don't want. I like to put the headstone in a couple of pictures so people can see the setting. If you don't want those, just erase them--I won't be insulted. :)
