Bio

I've been doing family research since 1977. I was motivated to start my search after the Roots series aired in 1977. I had my first Alex Haley moment at the Ohio Historical Library when I looked up my great-great grandfather George E. Nichols and found him in the family of Thomas and Sarah Nichols. Because I wrote a write up about this ancestor, it connected me to Patsy Kramer who shared with me a letter this Thomas had written in 1863 that was found in a trunk in Oregon by a descendant of one of his nephews. My great grandparents are Oren Nichols, Clara Beckford, Charles Rufus Newberry, Charlotte Loretta Price, Adam Bort, Rosine Braun, Michael Leslein, and Louise Elizabeth Schimpf.

My profile chalk drawing is of me in 1959 sketched at Pacific Ocean Park, Santa Monica, California.

I married Stephen Simms on November 17, 1973. I'm just as passionate and close to his Family Tree as My Family Tree in my research of his ancestors. His great grandparents are Elias M. Simms, Frances Emaline Brown, Henry Pfarr, Elizabeth Deubach, Amos Henry Gheen, Elsie Myrtle Leggett,James Wesley Porter, and Ethel Gusta Jenkins.

Transfer requests: I will be glad to transfer any memorial outside close family, just ask. If you'd rather just have it updated, glad to do that too.

Flower notes on this website that I put on may be copied and added as bio for the person. I found that way I don't need to ask for transfers of memorials as often.

In the meantime you can visit my website listed below to find more information about my ancestors and my husband's ancestors.
