Since my teens, I have enjoyed poking around old cemeteries, photography and history. Serving as a volunteer photographer for Find A Grave offers an opportunity to combine all three of these interests.

My goal when photographing a headstone or monument is to provide two or more pictures that show not only the gravesite with its inscription, but also some of the surrounding environment in the area of the burial. I hope this approach provides loved ones who cannot visit the cemetery in person a photographic "sense of place" for their family members and friends.

My personal policy is to only create and/or manage memorials for my own family or other individuals for whom I have enough information to complete an accurate, detailed and informative memorial to honor the person's lifetime among us.
