Hello - My wife and I both have and come from families that moved around a lot during and after our child raising years. I realize that we and our children missed out on many opportunities to LEARN ABOUT AND FROM many of our ancestors. Much of this family heritage is being lost as time moves on. I want my children and grandchildren to have the chance to learn where they came from.

In June 2013, after researching my family heritage for less than 4 months I was able to VERIFY more than 1500 members in either mine or my wife's families. As of April 2014, that total has risen to over 8500 individuals in USA, Canada, England, Germany, both Irelands, Scotland, France to name a few.

9 generations ago, in 1634 my 7x great-grandfather Deacon Thomas Hastings and his wife left England on the boat "The Elizabeth" and helped settle "The Massachusetts Bay Colony,". He became a leader in the formation of the colonial government. 4 generations later, his son Nathaniel III left Massachusetts and settled Stanstead, Canada East. He and his descendants helped build communities in Pickering Ontario, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas and Albion, New York where my grandfather was born. This is the heritage I want future generations to know about and be proud of.

When I first came across FIND A GRAVE I quickly realized how much the information found in these memorials HELPED LEAD me to MORE information and family. These memorial should have enough accurate information in them to HONOR their lives and INSPIRE others to seek out their own heritage. I have came across the burial locations of family members who are not included here. Helping to provide information for future researchers is a goal of mine. Let me know if I can help.
