SANGSTER is the Virginia family I have descended from. My mother was born in Burke VA. Her forebears were prominent citizens of the area and a few of the men served in the Confederacy.
SIMPSON and MCWHIRT are the Virginia families of my husband. Some of his forebears also served in the Civil War, including his g-grandfather's service with Mosby's Rangers...that was James P. Simpson.
