I am the "Keeper of the Flame" for my generation in a family that has been doing genealogy research for our family since at least 1900. Grandpapa and Grandmother did it all by hand, often traveling by train or horse-drawn wagon. Mother and Daddy took up the trail on their honeymoon in 1941 and never stopped. I have inherited love of the quest, and now that our children have been launched successfully, I can continue their work. Although my predecessors left me with crates and boxes full of documents, notes, and photographs, I have the additional advantage of computers and the internet to extend my reach, and a patient husband who supports my efforts with enthusiasm. While my first priority is organizing our own family history for our descendants, I enjoy assisting other family genealogists whenever possible.
