Bio

Born and raised in Nebraska, I had a career that moved me from Nebraska to Texas to Georgia, and finally, to North Carolina.

This Cornhusker then fell in love with a Tarheel, got married, and has been living happily ever after in Western NC.

I have always been interested in genealogy and have learned quite a bit about my Nebraska side of the family over the years. But when I questioned my husband about his side of the family, his response was "We've been here so long that we don't know where we came came from." Since then, I have felt compelled to figure it out - and I am now hooked!

Family names I am researching from my Nebraska side of the family include LIEBENTRITT, SCHUCHART, TSCHIDA, SAHLER, MARTIN, BARRETT, DENHAM, and NASHALL/NASEL.

The surnames from my husband's Scots-Irish side of the family are too numerous to list, so I will just provide the main name: LUSK.

The Lusks have indeed been here a long time - almost 300 years! They arrived in the early 1700's and have contributed much to the founding & growth of our country. I am sure I will probably spend the rest of my life trying to sort them all out!!!

Find A Grave has been an invaluable source for me and I am very happy to show my appreciation by photographing graves in this area for those who cannot make the trip themselves.

Happy Hunting!
