Bio

I started family research in 1976 when I discovered a simple family tree that my father had made, some letters to my great grandmother about her ancestors.

I have 3 trees on Ancestry.com and have taken many photos of gravestones as early as 1988 when my son had a 4th grade genealogy project to do. Where my photos are better than what's available, I'll add them to Memorials currently established on Find A Grave.

After giving some extra information and sending a photo to one Veteran who has created a huge number of Find A Grave Memorials, I suddenly found myself the manager of 2 as she transferred them to me. What a surprise! With copies of burial records for the Francis Marion "Borax" Smith (1946-1931) vault and David L. Beck (1814-1883) plot in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland CA, I've added names and burial information and external views of the burial site. If I can get the okay from the cemetery, I would like to post the record as photos. However, both of these records can be seen online at Ancestry.com under the names/dates above
