Bio

I'm an amateur photographer who finds beauty in nature and un-posed photos of children playing outdoors. On rainy days, I enjoy digital editing and photo restoration.

I first became aware of pioneer cemeteries through my hobby. I was touched by how well-cared for they were generations after the last burials. I wondered about the life stories of the people laid to rest there. Do those stories yet live on or have they been forgotten through the years? I shed tears for the infants and children's graves and was so upset that I never wanted to return to such sad places.

Yet I did return. I began to see beauty in the gravestones: the different materials and designs, the various fonts used in the inscriptions, and even the fading of inscriptions over time. I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, whether quietly tucked away in a grove, or boldly adorning a hilltop.

I hope by photographing grave stones and memorials I can honor the lives of the people they represent. Thank you for your requests for photos and allowing me to honor your loved ones' memories through photography.

Please feel free to contact me and offer your stories. I also take a limited number of requests for digital photo restoration. Instead of payment for my efforts, I ask that you make a donation to the Find a Grave website or a charity of your choice.
