Bio

I've been interested in genealogy for a while, but my passion for exploring cemeteries dates back to when I was a teenager. We moved to a house that was very close to a tiny cemetery. I remember spending hours walking among the stones and writing down names and dates in a notebook. I think I still have that page somewhere.

While I do a lot of research on my own family names, including Dunn, Masters, Swann, Kemple, Miller, Cook, Henry, Geary/Gary, I love to learn about other people, too. I'm especially touched when I discover information about, or a photo of someone whose name I read on a headstone. It makes them more real- more than a mere name.

I haven't been a member of Find A Grave for long, but I wish I had become one much sooner! It makes me happy to fulfill a photo request or add a grave photo or information to a memorial. I will do this as long as I am able to do so.
