I have grown up in the San Francisco Bay area. I attended school, married and helped raised my family here. I am now retired, and acquired a passion for searching my family roots and my new interest in Find a Grave. I am attending more memorial services of family and friends now. At one memorial service I was given a short story by an unknown author that describes this beautiful explanation of death from a father to his children.

“When tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand.

The angel said my place was ready
In heaven far above
And that I’d have to leave behind
All those I dearly loved.

When I walked through Heaven’s gates,
I felt so much at home
For God looked down and smiled at me.
And said, “Welcome Home”

So when tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me
I’m right here in your heart.”
