My families have lived in Wake and Harnett counties of North Carolina for over 200 years. While I am drawn to all graveyards and cemeteries and the stories they can illuminate, I am not a collector: my lifelong focus has been my extended Austin, Carpenter, Ragan, and Jones families in central North Carolina. In more recent years, I have taken on my husband's families in west Texas and New York City.
