Upon graduating from Berkeley High School, I moved to Corvallis Oregon and attended Oregon State University. Working my way in lumber and plywood mills, I married Donna Rasmussen of Portland 24 Aug 1963 and graduated in 1966. Having attended ROTC, I joined the Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Engineers. A year in Vietnam, 6 years in Germany, twice in Texas, Indiana, Kansas, Virginia, three years in the Pentagon, Korea and finally back to Oregon. A total of 28 years with 19 moves. I retired in 1994 as a Colonel. I then went to work as a Credit Manager with a farm cooperative, NORPAC Foods in Stayton, Oregon (Flavrpac and Santiam vegetables).

Donna and I were blessed with 3 daughters and a son who are all grown. Donna died very suddenly of cancer in 2001. In 2003, I joined Joan in Sandy, Oregon and currently live with her.
