Bio

Oregon Ancestry offers a record lookup service for amateur and professional genealogists from around the world.
Brad Fuqua has a strong background in research and writing. As a resident of Corvallis, Oregon, he can easily visit repositories in the region and find materials on the families that settled and lived in Oregon.
Brad's genealogical background dates back to the mid-1980s when he started researching his own family while in college. Over the years, he was able to verify his primary family line back 12 generations to his original immigrant in the 1600s. Countless hours doing family interviews, examining vital records, finding documents of every type in repositories such as courthouses, libraries, museums and genealogical societies followed. As such, he has a well-rounded understanding of what records exist and how to use them, expertise that can help you in your own research.
Brad's lifetime occupation has been in journalism as an editor and reporter. Important components of the profession include verifying sources, double-checking for accuracy, doing research, looking through records, and editing and writing. Brad has been working at newspapers for more than 25 years and the demands of the job have many parallels with genealogy. One of these qualities is approaching projects in an objective manner, which is important to consider all possibilities on a research question.
