Once upon a time, in the pursuit family history, I had wonderful visits with four recently widowed women. Three had been married for over 60 years and the fourth fell a year short of her Golden Anniversary. They each married the love of their life and were mothers and grandmothers.

They were very gracious, sweet and bluntly honest. They caught me off guard. They felt abandoned and angry toward their departed spouses for abandoning them. Their anger nearly knocked me over.

Someday somebody I might be able to figure this out. For now I won't ask questions, just count my blessings.
