Life
My Bio: Chapter 1: I was born...
on a cold winter day in a farm house located three and one half miles west of Mansfield, Arkansas. Being a "blue baby" the doctor discarded me to a cardboard box close to the warm coal stove with little encouragement to my parents that I would survive. However, God had other plans for me. When the doctor came to the realization that I was a little girl destined to survive, he gave me my first kiss. Thus began my addiction to kisses.

Chapter 2: I grew up...
on that same farm with my parents and three siblings. My first seventeen years were spent helping with the dairy farm chores. My Mom and I milked, by hand, about 30 cows. After I left home my Mom had to buy an electric milking machine to replace me. The work was hard, the days were long but I loved that part of my life.

Chapter 3: I was married...
after working for two years as a cashier at the First National Bank in Fort Smith, AR, I was married (Ernie Eldon McConnell, August 13, 1955). My husband and I soon moved to Fresno, California. My first child,(Daniel DeWayne McConnell b. October 23, 1960) my son who is adopted, was born in Coalinga, CA. I carried him from the hospital on his third day in this world. Thirteen months later, my biological daughter (Carla Ann McConnell b. December 3, 1961) was born in San Jose, CA. This chapter ends with a divorce after ten years of marriage.

Chapter 4: The love of my life...
James Lowell Fry of Villa Grove, IL found me at my place of employment, the Clark County Courthouse in Arkadelphia, AR. We met on July 8, 1969. We were married five weeks later (August 15, 1969). Our happiness was short lived if you go by the calendar. I judge the length of that marriage by the love and mutual respect we shared; by the sheer joy of every moment we were together. My husband died on January 29, 1971. I have never remarried.

Chapter 5: Taking care of family...
became the focus of my life. My Mother had a heart attack two weeks after my husband died. I became, with the help of my children, the primary caregiver of my Mother, my Father and my dependent older sister. My Mother died in 1972, my Father in 1975 and I became the Legal Guardian of my sister who is my senior by thirteen years. My sister died on September 21, 2009 at the age of 86 yrs. 4 months and 1 day. She is missed. My other two siblings are also deceased.
