If you can't find or see Kindness... BE Kindness.

Live in Indian River, MI. Happily married. Doing several Family Trees with many branches. Have already photographed headstones for people in my trees, so why not photograph markers for other people unable to get to the sites. Have used this site with my researching. ** I feel that no one should be forgotten. **

If I manage a family member of yours or your spouse's, or someone who is a dear friend/neighbor or someone on your Family Tree regardless how many generations back or "removed" like 2nd, 3rd, or 4th cousin and want the memorial transferred to you, no problem with me (unless it is my family member too), just make sure you include your FAG ID number with your Transfer Request message.

EDIT SUGGESTIONS: All are welcomed, please use the appropriate Tab on the Memorial. To quicken the "approval" process - I do research all Suggested Corrections/Edits. - Please message me or email me (my email is above on my Profile for this reason) the documents that support your Edit Suggestion for a quick Approval. Please put the Memorial ID number in your correspondence to me, thank you. If it is "family knowledge" just type that, I don't need to know it came from the Bible your GrandMa gave you when you were 10 years old with a Family Tree written in it (like what my GrandMa did for me).

Any headstone photographs I've posted may be used for non-commercial use, family trees, Ancestry, etc. Credit should be noted with the picture. Be kind and ethical.

I want to Thank all the FAG Volunteer Members that walk the cemeteries taking photographs of the headstones and markers, to me, that's what it is all about. When you "visit" a grave in person, you are looking (visually) at the grave site paying your respects.

When I create a Memorial, I research the individual and try to be as complete as possible with dates, places and family members. Additional input is welcomed and I give credit to the contributor. ** Every person has a story to be told. ** I do not copy and paste Obituaries, {UPDATE 2022: Newspaper Obituaries, when found are added to the Photo Section with notation of the Newspaper in the comment box.} instead information is gathered from them omitting LIVING individual's names, there is NO PRIVACY device on Find a Grave like on the Family Tree sites where a Living Individual comes up as "Private" to all other members. Instead if I do copy & paste it is only a part of the published obituary and I list credit to the Newspaper or source it came from to prevent any copyright infringements. We all need to be aware of Find a Grave's standards, which do change thru the years.

-- No one "owns" a Memorial, no Manager listed on a Memorial "owns" it. Managers should be working towards a goal of completing the pertinent basic information on a Memorial, such as dates/locations and links to family members or name them in the Bio Info box, along with a photo(s) of the grave marker at the least. LEAVE A FLOWER FOR PETE'S SAKE PLEASE. Understandably those doing "data entries" from a Church Cemetery Book or such will be limited with the information that has been recorded in the old book. So why not make a mention of it in the Bio Info box? Such as: Reference: St. Peter's Church cemetery book 1812-1852. (While the person in the FAG Memorial is buried in St. Peter's Cemetery but only has birth/death dates with no other information or headstone photo.) --
