Shelburne, Hines (from Montgomery/Pulaski and Lunenburg/Charlotte counties);
Meredith, Bell, Hall, Burnett, Duncan, Dickerson, Sutphin, Lowman, Hite/Hight, Weeks (from the New River Valley area, especially Floyd/Pulaski counties);
Taylor, Wade, Craig, Crow(e), Miller and connected families such as Kent, Junkin, McClanahan, Lewis, Ingles, Powers, and Pitzer (from Montgomery/Roanoke/Bedford/Rockbridge counties); and
Pelton and Payne (from Montgomery County and Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Connecticut)
