I was born in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1943, and I pursued a career in music. After graduation from Florida State University, I served for three years as a violinist with the United States Army Strings, performing at the White House during the Johnson and Nixon administrations. Following a season with the Cincinnati Symphony, I joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1970. I retired from the CSO in 2006.

My immediate family lines are Hall, Page, Buford, and Munroe.
