Photography is another hobby, as is ceramics and ...well, as I said, too many to list!

I found this site via Ancestry, and was intrigued. I began compiling family history back in the 1980's, when long-kept family records just fell into my lap, and another new hobby was born!
Looking up things in the family history connects my ancestors to times and places in the larger history of the nation and world for me. It has made history become far more alive and less boring than the rote memorization of events and dates as we are made to suffer in school. ( Can you tell I didn't have very good teachers of history back in my school days, now over 50 years behind me?)
