I started searching for my ancestors a little over a year ago through ancestry.com. It has been alot of work, but alot of satisfaction to see how much information I have accumulated.

There are so many sites out there that have really good information and Find A Grave is at the top of my list.

My search started with looking for my husband's side of the family since his father was put in an orphanage after the Italian Hall Disaster of 1913 in Calumet, Michigan. It was not easy to discover that information. I was looking for poor Finnish immigrants, but I eventually found my husband's roots. It took Ancestry.com, Find A Grave, Billion Graves and a couple of contacts from up in the Calumet, Michigan area.

I then went on to my Irish side of my family and have been able to discover a lot about them also.

It is rewarding to find out where you came from and if you find that you are stuck and just don't know where to turn, please contact me and I will pass along the resources I have found during my search.
