Thankfully, I started genealogy when I was quite young and heard the stories of my elders.

I started before computers and the Internet. I am what you would call a "late adopter" of all things electronic and technological. I use an outdated genealogy computer program no longer supported by LDS (Latter Day Saints) called PAF (Personal Ancestral File).

I have over 115,000 individual records and 50,000 marriage records on my PAF. I have thousands of obituaries/published family biographies/etc. that I would love to add to Find-A-Grave. If I live long enough to type them all up!!!

I know how to do and enjoy doing genealogy the old fashion way, when you can't find what you are looking for on the Internet. I love the search/mystery of it!!!

I love the Internet for researching. I hate typing and entering data!!!

I discovered Find-A-Grave several years ago when surfing the Internet for info. I have resisted joining because of the typing!!!!

But I have decided that it is the best way for me to leave my legacy so others can benefit for FREE of my over 40 years of genealogy researching. I have access to Ancestry.com, but because that is a PAY FOR website, I prefer not to enter my data there.

Basically, I will have to type all my obituaries that I have gathered and enter them on my PAF and Find-A-Grave. Pray that I live that long without dementia (a family disease) so that I can enter everything!!!

I have no children and no close relatives that are interested in genealogy. I am seriously afraid they will throw everything out on my death!!! I am still trying to figure out where to leave it all. When I started genealogy, I thought I'd write a genealogy book. Several years later, I realized the magnitude of that and decided just give all my info to LDS (Latter Day Saints). But now, I think Find-A-Grave is the way to go. But still need to find a depository for my genealogical collection!!!

Some friends have suggested I become a "professional" genealogist. I appreciate the compliment on my researching skills, but prefer to keep genealogy as a hobby.
