RE: Ebenezer Demming

I've been cleaning up North Orange Cemetery. A contributor made a bunch of entries in Jones Cemetery in Orange thinking it was North Orange Cemetery. So I finally find-a-grave put all those memorials (about 90) in the correct cemetery. But now I have a bunch of duplicates I'm trying to get rid of.

I noticed that you had just created the memorial for Ebenezer Demming last week. I actually already had a memorial set up for him under Damon but I deleted mine because you had the great photo of his stone on yours. Before deleting mine I simply made note of any links on the memorial and I sent them to you. I did not double check any info I was just making links before I deleted my memorial.

I have no problem if you do not link to Anna. There is something definitely wrong with the daughter she has listed. I actually just sent that person a correction to remove Alpeus and Anna as her parents since Anna was dead before she was even born.

Anna very well could be Ebenezer's wife but I have not fully researched it. He did die young. And there is a marriage of a Anna Damon marrying Alpheus Gillet in Massachusetts in 1793 according to That's about as far as I got.

It's up to you. Thanks for writing.

Jay, thanks so much for the beautiful pictures of the Wallis's and Cowdreys. I put up quite a few of the memorials in the Ashby Cemetery from a 1937 list, but they are much more complete when a photo is attached.

Thanks again for your good work!

Hi Jay, Just wanted to say THANK YOU for getting the picture of his grave marker! It's a wonderful picture - so clear - and the fact that you took the time to transcribe it makes it even better. He was my 6th Great Grandfather. It's people like you that make FindaGrave outstanding! John

Stratton family, cont.
Jay, Thank you very much for the additional information on James Stratton. I've updated his memorial and my other records. I'll look forward to anything you might be able to add on Deborah.

Ball family headstones
Jay, thank you for the update on Adonijah's headstone and photos of other possible family members. It adds a lot to family histories to be able to view the stones. Thank you so much for the clear photos and your efforts on my behalf.

Stratton-family headstone photos
Wow, I'm so very surprised to receive these photos. I wasn't completely sure these three Stratton family members were really buried there, and even less sure that the headstones would have survived. Thank you very much for your efforts, even for going around the fence to get the view of the front of each stone. I really appreciate it. (Any sign of Stephen's parents Deborah and James Stratton in that same cemetery??)
