Bio

When I create memorials, I don't copy and paste published obits or pictures. If sent a published obit, I don't add it to a memorial. It violates FindAGrave's copyright restrictions, info in obits often goes out of date quickly, and if it has already been published on the internet it's easily discovered for those with an interest.

I receive many edit suggestions containing biographies copied and pasted directly from a newspaper or funeral home website. I decline these because they violate the author's copyright and very often contain survivor information that FindAGrave requests *not* be posted. (By the way, noting the source, date of publication, etc. does *not* cure a copyright violation.)

As for any suggested edits I might make, they are only that - suggestions. (Some) people seem to get *really* testy about some things, e.g., a period after a middle initial. Do whatever pleases you. Accept what you like, reject what you like. They're only suggestions, not a judgment or criticism of your work.

If you'd like the memorial of a relative transferred to you, let me know.
