Bio

I am the daughter of Anthony (no middle initial) LaCross (Original Italian LaCroce) and Genevieve May Cowdin LaCross. Dad was born in Jersey City, NJ 3/22/22. Mom was born in Cheyenne Wyoming 5/6/1922.

Dad's parents came from Sicily and landed on Ellis Island.

Mom's parents are Daniel Lyman Cowdin and Rachel Pauline Royce Cowdin. Both of mom's parents' families had 1600 acre sheep ranches next door to each other which they homesteaded near Alvcova, Wyoming. My grandmother, Rachel Cowdin is the daughter of Maja Lisa (She Americanized it to May Elizabeth out of pride for her new country the USA. She was also a suffragette and a healer) Henrickson Royce. I was always told her family were Swedish Laplanders and land owners and that's where we get our big brown almond shaped eyes. My gram, however, had blue eyes. Gram, at the age of 18, taught school in the Wyoming Territory. I know Gram's dad Steen Owen Royce and his brother worked on the Transcontinental Railroad and I have a a portrait of bothof them taken the day the Golden Spike connecting the east and west rails was driven. My mother is one of 4 children. Her sister is Nova Eileen for whom I am named. Her brothers are Jack and Lloyd. There is more to tell and I will try to post some photos and do a better job of editing this information so it is not so rambling. Both my mom's parents are supposed to be buried in the Alcova Cemetery with Grams folks. This is my very first research effort so I will post more info as I have time to get it.
