Bio

My interest in documenting grave sites is primarily a matter of family, and goes back to my childhood when traveling around from cemetery to cemetery with my mother and grandmother, both of whom had a passion for family history and remembrance. I also have a rather unusual connection to that history in that my great-grandparents were born in the early 19th century and my grandparents in the years immediately before and after the Civil War. That happened because I am the youngest of a youngest child and was fortunate to have known my grandmother who lived to past 98 and who taught me much about the her life and the family members who enriched it. I view Find A Grave as a great "open resource" for preserving some of that knowledge and to sharing it with younger generations.
