My line is Alice Looney/James Roy, Jr/James Roy, Sr/Mathus Belton/George Washington/Martin Luther/Adam/Robert/Adam/Robert the first Looney, who settled in what is now the town of Buchanan, VA (Botetourt County) around 1735.

I have been to the original homesite, rolled in the Looney soil, and washed off in Looney's Mill Creek. That's my story....

Actually, I just rubbed my hands in the dirt and rinsed them in the creek, but the story sounds better, huh?! The cows didn't seem to mind at all....
