I went to school at Standifer Gap SDA with Doug Lockaby and Janet Early. They were both killed because of a wreck involving a Volkswagen when I was about 18 years old. I was told Janet was pregnant and her and Doug were going to be married as soon as he graduated. I went to their funeral and sat with the family. I wish God had taken me instead of them and today I still cry that for them. I played spin the bottle with them and told them to kiss and they did not knowing they would love each other later. I feel so sad wondering if things had of been different and I had never told them to kiss would they be alive? Would they been in that wreck? I was told that a cop hit them head on. I saw the rusty, burned volts wagon. It is a miracle that Doug's 2 brothers and 2 other girls were not killed. It is April 3,2014 and one day long ago I was looking for Doug's grave and happened to see Resi Colson's picture on her flat head stone and dropped to my knees crying at her grave. She was the daughter of Russell Wright and he was like a foster father to me in New York state. What a way to find out someone is dead right!? She was killed by a Mexican that she had picked up hitch hiking and he wanted her Jesus music turned off but she didn't so he beat her and smothered her and killed her. So sad. Life is sad for me most days. I feel so alone. I have lost a lot and gained children and grandchildren but I am still alone.
