I was so glad to find this site while working on my family tree. One of the first online discoveries was of my great- grandfather and great-grandmother on my mother's side of the family. They are buried in Michigan, and not much chance of me traveling there just to see their graves in the cemetery. Although, I would include a trip to see Doc Pol and Diane and the Pol Vet Clinic for sure! After adding the great-grandparents photos to my tree, I decided to try and find my mother's father here in town. We had never gone to visit his grave, but I knew he was buried here. Thanks to Barbara Wineinger for adding his memorial including the lot and space number allowing me to find him. Well, that lit the fire, and I have been adding family and friends, as well as documenting local people here as I confirm where their final rest will be. I am a volunteer for photos in the Bakersfield, Shafter and Taft, California areas, as well as the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin. I will be fulfilling some local requests for our fellow F-A-G members. I love a quiet stroll through the cemetery, finding the markers and getting the best photo I can for relatives and friends. I am researching names Roth, Klevies (Klieves), Bauer, Seleh (Seilah or Seazil) and Simpson on my family. Stevens, Ellis and Turner so far for my husband's family.
