In 1946 I was born to Edith Malicoat of Muskogee, OK and Varnum Gridley of Long Creek, OR, I still live in the house built in 1914 by my great-grandparents, Laura Renfro(e) Huntsaker nee Statham and William Sylvester Huntsaker.
Familiar to my families were the cities of Cape Gireau Mo, Lodi OH, Hartfort Ct, (my 7th Great-Grandfather Thomas Gridley was one of the 29 co-founders of Hartford)as well as Westfield and .
Schools attended included Franklin, St. Alphonsus, San Joaquin Memorial, Washington Union, Fresno City College, Merced City College,Fresno State University and Fresno ROP.
Work experience included: The B of A, IRS, Robert Half International, Office Team, Kelly Services, Fresno State University, University of Chicago, and many others. I worked part-time and temp jobs when my children were young and some of these included Village East, Bartels Research, AIS Market Research,and the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.
My husband Ross (William R Tate)and I are part of the Masonic Family, and have been volunteers for Fresno High Band Aid, The Holiday Project, and personal charities to whom we have contributed our time and money.
Interests include: Painting, Flower Arranging, Silk Ribbon Embroidery and other Arts & Crafts. I have been a Certified Instructor for the IRS and also a Certified Master Gardener. Collected several blue ribbons at the Caruthers Fair for Art, Sculpture, Flower Arrangements and entries into the food category. Ribbons include several for Best of Show in flouriculture.
Genealogy has also been an interest and that is what has brought me to volunteering at Find a Grave.
