Born 1951 in Eugene Oregon. Youngest son of Elvin K. & Dorcas E. Hammitt-Stingley. Married to Lydia Jean Badillo in 1983 and father of three daughters with 3 grandchildren. Descended from Oregon Trail Pioneers on both sides. Two brothers, Richard Elvin 'Dickie'(deceased) and John Wayne, two sisters: Diane Kathleen and Catherine Rose (all living as of 2019). Recently retired. Father buried in Rest-Haven in Eugene, mother in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pete plans to be buried in the Pioneer family plot, Stafford Cemetery, Mohawk Valley, Springfield upon death. Direct lineal descendent of Solomon and Nancy Zumwalt, and Norman and Sarah Hammitt, Oregon Trail pioneers.
