MEMORIALS:
I produce a high volume of memorials and photos with a good chance I have made some errors along the way. I ALWAYS welcome corrections! If anyone wants to manage a memorial I created that is not a family member or friend of mine, just ask. I don't understand those who feel the need to hoard and control every memorial. I am more than happy to transfer any memorials, there is no necessity for it to be a certain number of generations. If you want one or more , Just ask and give me the memorial numbers. Use any of my images freely for your family and research. Restricted from documents for resale or profit without clearance.

Duplicates: It is never my intention to create a duplicate on purpose. If you come across a duplicate I have made, please use the SAC and let me know. Nicely, please. I'll be happy to remove it. Please don't create a duplicate of my memorials; I would rather you just ask for a transfer instead of creating a duplicate. I promise I won't grill you or make you prove your relationship to the deceased!
By the same token if you discover your loved one here and you don't want them shown on this site, let me know and I will delete them. The same goes for Documents , photos, and bio details.

****If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and willing to take over the records. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates. Sources for bios include obituaries, United States Federal Census, birth records, official documents (as Wills), cemetery, death and public records. Other resources used are noted accordingly.
I have been a Photographer since 1971 and a Genealogist since 1994 and currently researching 60+ surnames. I Have threaded through dense overgrowth, poison ivy with branches as thick as your arms covering the ground, Headstones buried down to the top, mosquitoes and flies that attack at the brisk of dawn, and snakes at cemeteries. I will always keep my camera for that special shot. I am working on cemetery's in Cleveland. I will enter all buried in the plots and there may be other family member headstones photographed and uploaded. Also when I find an unlisted family member in any plot I will create a memorial for that person and hope you can link that family member. Be sure and go to that memorial page and use the link find all others with the the surname buried in any Cemetery and they will list them all. And If they have photos I hope that you will be able to fill gaps in your research. I do not give permission to use my photographs for professional publications unless I okay it **. However you may use them to your genealogical programs and pass to relatives as desired and credit me. If you want the un-edited photos or memorials transferred just ask.
Handling unreadable headstones:
I find that this works for me. when I found unreadable markers I would take multi photos at different exposes and markers to the left and right. Then use a photo editing program to adjust different variables. sometimes increasing contrast helps. Change the colors and or reverse the image to negative and you will be surprised what you will find. If you can get any markings/name/date you have a good chance. Also try and get the exact location of the marker. If it is with others check all the same surname and if they are listed in the plot you may get a hit. Also Corrections are always welcomed.

no restrictions unless published for resale. The added stipulation that you provide a photo source citation (by referencing both "Find A Grave" [or www.findagrave.com] AND My profile name AND # in the Description) for any of our photographs taken from this website; for example, "Photo courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor: Rick Foster (#48415765)".

-- Note that you can provide a link back to the Find A Grave memorial, instead of copying (i.e. Ancestry's built-in "weblinks" function can be used for this exact purpose). This option works quite well.
