I grew up in Winfield Township Butler County PA and the majority of my family is based in the tri county area of Westmoreland, Indiana, and Armstrong Counties in Pennsylvania. I had a couple uncles that shared what they knew of our family history when I was young. This sparked my interest. In the mid to late 90's a distant cousin contacted me about the family history and we worked together on it for a time. I became a little too occupied with it after a few years and took a break. In 2013 I resumed with the family research that I had started earlier. I wasn't a great lover of history when I was in school but I am fascinated by the things I find out about the accomplishments of my ancestors and have a great admiration for what they endured as well. The main surnames that I research are ALLSHOUSE, BLACK, SNYDER, and McGAUGHEY. I also research the families allied to them.
