My family history is embedded in New York and Pennsylvania, mostly the Twin Tiers area. I visited many cemeteries to locate ancestors, and I used county cemetery indexes and now use Find-A-Grave, to visit those I cannot reach directly. While searching for lost ancestors and later becoming seriously involved in a separate history project focused on a family of early settlers in western New York State, I documented some families in Steuben and Livingston counties not related to me. Some of these did not have memorials so I created them and provided photos for others. This led me to additional individuals who presented interesting aspects of local history and to several local cemeteries which I decided to help document.
