My name is Janis Fisher Neff. I grew up in Grand Saline, Tx. I moved to Tennessee 24yrs ago. I became addicted to genealogy 2 yrs ago when I found out all of my Paternal ancestors came from right here in Tn about 15 miles from where I live. My ancestors include Fisher, Yarbrough, Kindle, Shiflet, Cantrell,Wilson, Owens and Lee families. I am also trying to document my husbands family which includes Neff,Shamblin, Williams and Adkins families of Clay Co, WV. Even as a child I was interested in knowing who my ancestors were and would listen closely when my grandmothers would talk about kinfolks. My mother has been a good source of info also. I always try to verify my info by census records, birth records and death certificates. I am always open to suggestions or new info. When I come across people I knew personally, I try to link them to other family members. In my family research I have really appreciated the hard work others have done in linking some of my family together on FAG and I hope my work can be of benefit to others.
