Bio

I was born in Oklahoma in the heart of the Dust Bowl, during the Great Depression, to a mother who could not nurse us, and to an unemployed dad. To survive, we soon moved to Alabama where my parents were share-croppers for about 12 years. I grew up near Oneonta, Alabama - graduated from the University of Alabama and moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1966. I was in insurance management and sales for 37 years, retiring early in 1994.
I became a prolific world traveler in 1958 and was an active lay missionary for 40 years. I taught Writing Your Life Story for 19 years and Genealogy for two additional years. I am a writer and an author (A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY & A JOURNEY OF FAITH), wrote my 6th & 7th books in December, 2020 - just weeks before my 89th birthday. I just completed another book (9/23) less than six months before my 92nd birthday. I became active in genealogy about 23 years ago and was Chaplain in the John Collins Chapter of the SAR in Marietta, Georgia for 6 years as of 12/22. Handicapped from a car accident in 2007, I became active in genealogy as a ministry. BLESSED!
