I grew up in the beautiful small town of Riner, Virginia, near Christiansburg and Floyd County located in the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountain area. The mountains offer serenity to anyone who drives through the rural area. It is a hidden gem for people who like being in nature and enjoy the mountains. While I currently live on the east coast due to family moves, my heart will always belong to my country roots. I have fond memories of my grandmother's farm as a child exploring open pastures with my brothers and working together as a family. My mother was the youngest of 10 children so I wanted to learn of those ancestors I had not known. My father was from Harrison, New York. He served his country during WWII then traveled to Southwest Virginia where he and my mother married. This began a journey exploring my parents' family history.
