My Grandmother, on my Fathers side, was an orphan at ten years old. She thought it was very important for her Family and especially her Grandchildren to know their Heritage. From the time I can remember, she played games with us, making us remember faces in photos of long gone relatives and telling first hand stories of her Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles. We had fun visiting cemeteries and having to find and remember where everyone was buried. She brought life to our ancestors by giving us her memories.( I have done the same with my son. We added in recording our Genealogy with Library research and Documentation to prove the information we find.) I have just started with Find A Grave and its wonderful. The Families can be together again even though some are buried very far apart. My Grandmother would have loved it! As I look for my Family, I notice Memorials all alone, with no Family listings. Sad. I start searching for others with the same name, search census records, for documentation to Verify Parents & Siblings , Then send edits and leave a flower on the Memorial edited.
Great satisfaction in bringing the Family Circle together again.
