As a retired college professor, recently I began digging into my genealogy and learning a lot about my ancestors. My mom is the last of her family of 8 children who grew up in South Georgia. My father grew up in Alabama in a family of 9 children. Genealogy opened up the door to a world I did not know existed. It made me want to learn more and more about the history of my family and the lives of people that came before me who lived in a time about which I had only read. If I can help people find that world for themselves by sharing information, I want to be of that service.
