I was born and raised in Gaston County, NC and have lived here most of my life with the exceptions being times I lived in Atlanta, GA; Fort Sill, OK & Boone, NC. In 2008 I started looking into my genealogy and hit a stopping point, but shortly there after found a wealth of information and met a distant cousin that helped bring a positive end to my search for my family names true origin (Westerwald, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany). After this, I have slowly been researching the other parts of my family and have had successes and stopping points with finding the final resting places of my relatives. In all this continues to provide a way to discover more about those I knew and remember the stories that I heard as a child and remember those that are no longer here. In all, to gauge ones future, one must look into the past.
